The Khopra Ridge

A quiet high ridge above the Annapurna Base Camp trail, finishing with the classic Poon Hill sunrise.

11 Days / 10 Nights Physical Grading 3 out of 5 Khayer Lake (Baraha Tal), nearly 4,600 m Annapurna Region, Nepal
Starting from $1,350 per person

Overview

The trip opens with two nights in Kathmandu, giving guests a settled start and a look at the Kathmandu Valley's heritage sites before heading to the mountains.

The Khopra Ridge trek itself climbs out of the well-known Gurung village of Ghandruk onto a high, quiet shoulder of the Annapurna range that most standard itineraries bypass entirely.

Khopra Danda itself sits above 3,600 m with a clear, uncrowded view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South, and the optional push to Khayer Lake at nearly 4,600 m adds a genuine high-altitude day for travelers who want it.

The route then drops through the farming village of Swanta before rejoining the Ghorepani trail for its famous Poon Hill sunrise. After the trek, a night in Pokhara offers a chance to rest before returning to Kathmandu for a final night and departure.
